We engaged with Synergy to build our new modern home in Castor Bay.
This not being our first build, we were keen to be involved in the process. In this respect Mark and Johanna really obliged and went out of their way to make sure we had a say or opinion as things developed. Two things that really mattered to us based on past experience were communication and flexibility, and we were not disappointed here. Mark was available at short notice and always responded in a timely manner. We were able to make small changes to details or design without stress.
We chose Synergy based on the houses they have built on the North Shore, and on general recommendations in the industry. Their teams are well skilled for the type of houses they build, and in our case, we had a true craftsman in Bryce.
To top it all off, we were very pleased with the speed of the project, even with the strain of working through the Covid lockdowns.
We were also impressed to find that Synergy plan ahead and have the ability to stockpile basic materials to avoid industry shortages and price increases.

We engaged Synergy Build Group in 2021 with a view to checking over and gradually renovating our all original family home. Mark, with his extensive experience, was quickly able to identify and explain what required prompt attention and what could be tackled later.
Synergy’s first big project for us was the renovation of an ensuite, which involved finding and diagnosing a leak, complete demolition and removal of the existing fixtures and fittings, and the installation of an entirely new bathroom.
Mark handled the process from start to finish, organising contractors and logistics quickly and efficiently. The timeframes Mark specified were rigorously stuck to, and that was even in the midst of a supply chain crisis and a labour shortage – highly impressive.
Johanna was adept at managing both budget and design ‘wishes’ that we, as a client, had, and was able to explain the best way to achieve impact with the space, spending the money where it counted. She was always on hand with ideas and samples, and was magical in the way she could quickly provide several great options to choose from – for anything from taps, to mirrors, to paint colours.
The end result is an ensuite that always receives compliments from visitors, is functionally brilliant, and finished to a standard far beyond the original.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Mark and Johanna to any potential client. We look forward to working with Synergy in the future.

We have worked with Synergy Build Group over the last few years to renovate our Milford townhouse. Mark and the team have provided expert advice and support in our endeavour to complete a top to bottom renovation.
They have project managed and connected us with expert roofers, new guttering placements and framers to replace all windows and external doors. Internally we had a complete refit of bathroom and kitchen which included new internal doors and new paintwork throughout. The assistance we received with regard to décor changes, colours and materials made the decision-making process incredibly easy and we are thrilled at the results.

The Synergy Team provided us a single source service to construct our new Takapuna home over a 27month programme completing in early 2019.

We recently engaged Mark Campbell of Synergy Build Group, for a difficult renovation project and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the results. From the beginning, Synergy was incredibly professional and attentive. The work was done perfectly, to a very high standard, with no shortcuts.
Along with the physical side of the job, Johanna offered great interior design ideas, all of which we ended up taking on board and feel it has totally enhanced our home.

In 2020 my late wife and I finally gained Building Consent to undertake a ‘final renovation’ of our already much altered 1920s Devonport bungalow.
Although modest in scale, this was a job which would impact directly on the living spaces of the modest-sized bungalow, and therefore add complexity to the work, as I chose to remain living in the house throughout much of the build.
From the outset, once selected for the build, Mark and his excellent team ensured that all was done to make the project flow smoothly and progress at a rate that worked for each party. Good communications, (as also experienced some years earlier with a previous project undertaken by Synergy) were key to a successful outcome. Throughout, from the Leading hand (and his apprentice) on-site daily, through Gary the site manager, and to Mark himself, easy and clear communication was a hallmark of the way Synergy operate.
Similarly, all interactions with Synergy’s several supporting tradespeople were excellent and well-considered. At no time was there uncertainty or insufficient opportunity to ensure understanding of the intricacies of each aspect of the build and fit-out. Given that I was continuing to live on site, it was pleasing to also experience the very tidy work habits of all in the Synergy team.
Equally importantly, other than when I chose to deviate from a planned fit-out item-purchase myself, the budget was adhered to from start to finish.
I continue to be impressed by the work that Synergy undertook for me. A very pleasing outcome in all respects.
